Description

Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal) is a 2-part underwater epoxy paste for metal repair and resurfacing based on a solvent-free, surface-tolerant epoxy resin reinforced with silicon steel alloy. This composite repair material is specifically designed for application to wet and oil contaminated surfaces, as well as for underwater applications. It is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and can be machined using conventional tools.

To repair corroded metal with Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal), only apply the repair material to firm and well-roughened surfaces. Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal) is surface tolerant and can be applied on wet and oily surfaces; however, it is recommended that the best possible surface preparation is administered. To achieve this, roughen the surface by blast cleaning, deeply scoring, or grinding. Then, clear away any loose contamination before combining the reactive components. To do this, transfer the required amount of Base and Solidifier components onto the Belzona Working Surface, ensuring the correct mixing ratio is followed. Mix thoroughly to achieve a uniform material free of any streakiness. Next, apply the Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal) directly onto the prepared surface with the plastic applicator or spatula provided. Finally, mixing tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Belzona 9111 or any other effective solvent e.g., Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK).   For more information, read the Instructions for Use (IFU):   Belzona 1161
