Description

A 2-part epoxy paste for rebuilding shallow pitting in metals damaged by erosion and corrosion. This solvent-free material is specifically formulated to easily fill in areas of corroded metal loss up to 6 mm deep, quickly restoring large areas and avoiding hot work and plate welding. Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) will not corrode and will resist a wide range of chemicals.

This composite repair material is ideally suited to be overcoated with other epoxy coatings for long-term protection against the effects of erosion, corrosion, and chemical attack. Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) epoxy metal pitting belongs to Belzona products series 1000.

Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) is designed for rebuilding shallow pitting in metal substrates. The paste is applied directly onto the application site with a plastic applicator or spatula. Press down the product firmly to fill all cracks, remove entrapped air, and ensure maximum contact with the surface. Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) can be contoured to the correct profile with a plastic applicator or allowed to cure and then machine down to create a smooth profile, allowing it to fix a hole in metal without welding.

For small quantities of Belzona 1151 use:
  • Mix the 2-part epoxy, Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) using the following instructions: Transfer approximately half of the contents of the Belzona 1151 Solidifier can to the Belzona 1151 Base unit.
  • Mix until a uniform consistency is achieved.
  • Add the remainder of the Solidifier and mix thoroughly to a uniform streak-free material.
