Description

An epoxy repair material designed for metal repair and protection against the effects of erosion and corrosion. This solvent-free composite repair has excellent chemical resistance and will bond to all metals and most other rigid surfaces. It is easy to mix and apply without the need for specialist tools and it cures at room temperature eliminating the need for hot work. It is ideally suited to be overcoated with Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) to ensure long-lasting performance.

Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) repair composite can also be used as a high-strength epoxy structural adhesive for metal bonding and to create irregular load bearing shims.

Belzona (Ceramic R-Metal) is designed as a high-strength structural adhesive for bonding metal to metal without welding. The paste is applied directly onto the application site with a plastic applicator or spatula. Press down the product firmly to fill all cracks, remove entrapped air, and ensure maximum contact with the surface. Then, offer the two mating surfaces together as soon as the product has been applied and allow to cure.
The cure time for the ceramic polymer, Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) varies depending on the ambient conditions and will be reduced for thicker sections and extended for tinner sections. The cure time is as follows:

These times are for a thickness of approximately 0.25 in/ 6mm. Overcoating is possible with suitable Belzona products once Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) has reached the ‘machining and/ or light loading’ level. If service does not involve immersion with a cold wall, Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) can be overcoated within 90 minutes at 50°F/ 10°C, within 60 minutes at 68°F/ 20°C, or within 30 minutes at 86°F/ 30°C.
