QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

The steps to apply the abrasion-resistant rubber lining, Belzona 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer), are as follows:
  • Clean the application area with Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/ Degreaser). If oil continues to form, abrade the surface with a suitable roughing tool.
  • Apply a thin, even coat of Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) or Belzona 2921 (Elastomer GP Conditioner) onto the surface with a brush.
  • Stir the contents of the Solidifier container thoroughly. Then, transfer the entire contents of the Base container into the mixing bowl provided before pouring the Solidifier over the Base in the bowl. After, mix for at least three minutes and allow to stand until a gel forms (do not mix after this stage).
  • Apply Belzona 2111 with the plastic applicator provided. Then, contour the Belzona 2111 to the correct profile with the applicator provided.
  • Allow to cure.

Torn rubber can be restored using Belzona’s rubber repair materials. Generally, the area must be degreased and abraded. Then, apply a coat of a conditioner such as Belzona 2911 (Elastomer QD Conditioner) or Belzona 2921 (Elastomer GP Conditioner) and let it dry. After, mix the Base and Solidifier of the product in use together in the mixing bowl provided. Next, apply the material with the plastic applicator or spatula provided. Finally, contour the material to the desired finish and allow it to cure. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) of the Belzona product in use for more information.Belzona 2111
How long an elastomeric coating lasts depends on the environmental factors of the equipment. In addition, it would also depend on the application thickness and whether the proper maintenance was administered.
