Belzona 4341 (Magma CR4)

A heat-resistant epoxy coating for concrete and metal surfaces in contact with hot inorganic acids.
Description

A durable, 2-part, heat-resistant epoxy coating optimised for resistance to hot inorganic acids such as sulphuric and hydrochloric acid up to 90°C (194°F). This solvent-free chemical resistant coating isolates concrete and metal surfaces from deteriorating chemical environments.

Belzona 4341 (Magma CR4) provides a safe and hygienic surface which meets the USDA requirements for incidental food contact. It is easy to mix and apply without the need of specialist tools and cures at room temperature.

  • Meets USDA requirements to provide safe and hygienic surfaces with no tainting of foodstuffs
  • Easy to mix and apply with no specialist tools
  • Reduced health and safety risks as it is solvent-free
  • Application and cure at room temperature – no hot work involved
  • Excellent bonding to all rigid substrates including concrete, fiberglass, brick, stainless steel, mild steel and carbon steel
  • Chemical resistant coating for acid retaining walls, tanks, chemical spill areas, concrete tank plinths and pumps
  • Sealing of chemical drains, channels, transfer and holding areas
  • Protection of concrete pump bases and casings from chemical spill
  • Creation of slip resistant walkways in chemical containment areas when combined with aggregate

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Belzona engineers epoxy coatings for metal to protect the substrate from erosion, corrosion, physical attack, etc. Ensure that the proper surface preparation is done for effective metal protection.

Yes, epoxy is chemically resistant. Belzona engineers chemical-resistant coatings for various substrates to protect them from different acids and alkalis at different temperatures.
To apply the heat-resistant coating, Belzona 4341 (Magma CR4), the surface must be clean, firm, and dry. In addition, it must be free of rust, paint, and other surface coatings and contaminants. Condition the area using Belzona 4911 (Magma TX Conditioner). To mix the material, add the entire contents of the Belzona 4341 (Magma CR4) Solidifier component to the Base unit. Then, mix thoroughly until a completely homogenous liquid is achieved. After, apply the material using a short-bristled brush or a squeegee to the prepared surface at the recommended coverage rate. A second coating can be applied as soon as possible to do so without disturbing the first coat. Finally, allow the product to cure. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
