QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

An industrial coating is an epoxy-resin material that is applied to various substrates such as concrete or steel to protect them from erosion, corrosion, chemical, and physical attack.

To apply the anti-corrosion coating, Belzona 5812 DW brush away loose contamination and clean with a rag soaked in Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/ Degreaser). Then, abrade the surface to give the necessary minimum profile. To mix the material, transfer the entire contents of the Solidifier container into the Base container and mix thoroughly together to achieve a uniform material. Belzona 5812 DW can be applied using a stiff-bristled brush or a rubber squeegee at the recommended coverage rate and allow the application to dry. A second coat can be applied, if needed, after the minimum overcoat time. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
The cure time of the high-performance coating, Belzona 5812DW is as follows:
Temperature Light loading Full mechanical/ thermal loading or water immersion
40°F (5°C) 29 hours 5 days
50°F (10°C) 1 day 3 days
72°F (22°C) 6 hours 2 days
86°F (30°C) 3 hours 1 day
