Belzona 5813

High-performance static dissipative ESD coating for concrete protection.
Description

Belzona 5813 is a solvent-free, two-component, static dissipative ESD coating.

This epoxy coating system is designed to transfer surface electrostatic charge build-up away from hazardous areas. Due to its excellent static dissipative properties, Belzona 5813 helps to eliminate electrostatic charge where flammable materials are stored.

Surfaces coated with Belzona 5813 prevent sparks, shorts, sudden discharge that can lead to an explosion.

Belzona 5813 is easy to mix and can be applied without the need of specialists tools.

  • Static dissipative and chemically resistant coating for primary and secondary chemical containment areas
  • Fuel storage tanks where fluid is agitated i.e. pumping and piping and filtration systems
  • Static dissipative coating for refineries and grain silos, highly susceptible to static charge accumulation
  • Static dissipative floor coatings for factories and warehouses

The mixing ratio of the ESD coating, Belzona 5813 is 5 parts Base to 1 part Solidifier by weight. Or 3 parts Base to 1 part Solidifier by volume. Please see the Product Specification Sheet (PSS) for more information.
To apply the chemical-resistant coating, Belzona 5813, brush away any loose contamination and remove dirt and oil, and grease. Degrease with Belzona 9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser). Abrade the substrate, if necessary, to create the recommended profile. To mix the material, transfer the entire contents of the Solidifier container into the Base container. Mix thoroughly together to achieve a uniform material free of any streakiness. Next, apply Belzona 5813 directly onto the prepared surface with a short-bristled brush or rubber squeegee. As soon as possible after the application of the first coat, apply a further coat of Belzona 5813. Suitable areas may be coated by spray using heated airless equipment. Use either a single airless pump or plural equipment capable of metering accurately and mixing the two components. Lastly, allow the product to cure. Please see the Instructions for Use (IFU) for more information.
The cure time of the flexible coating, Belzona 5813 is as follows:
